About Sidai Camp

Where Nature Meets Soul.

Sidai Camp is a secluded safari retreat on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, located within a privately owned 2,000-acre conservancy in Laikipia. Surrounded by untouched wilderness and bordering the renowned Mpala Research Centre, this intimate camp offers complete privacy along with exceptional wildlife and birdwatching opportunities.

We offer five spacious double tents, all ensuite and complete with private verandas — perfect for unwinding while taking in the sights and sounds of the surrounding bush, enjoying an intimate and luxurious safari experience where privacy, comfort, and connection to nature take center stage. Each guest tent is a stand-alone unit, giving you your own secluded space in the heart of the African wilderness.

Sidai Camp is a beacon of sustainability, fully powered by solar energy and constructed in harmony with its environment. In the near future, the camp will embrace on-site permaculture to supply most of its fresh produce, delivering a true farm-to-table dining experience that celebrates living off the land.

The dedicated team at Sidai Camp is deeply committed to rewilding initiatives, restoring the arid landscape to its natural state after years as a cattle ranch. Ongoing conservation efforts, including game counts and research projects, ensure the preservation of the Laikipia region for generations to come.

Imagine having 2,000 acres all to yourself.

Here, you’ll discover peace, space, and a rare connection to the land — a true escape from the busyness of everyday life. It’s your home away from home in the heart of the African bush. Our library and open-air restaurant overlook the tranquil river, inviting you to unwind with a good book, savor freshly prepared meals, and watch as wildlife wanders by.
